MTV Interview

He has spent months lending his voice to the character of Tarzan in the upcoming movie of the same name.
But Kellan Lutz clearly fancies himself as a candidate to play the character one day as he demonstrated when he performed the character's signature move by shouting out and then beating his fists on his chest to an audience of gorillas at Bristol Zoo on Thursday.

Unfortunately for the 29-year-old actor, the beasts didn't seem to enjoy his performance quite as much as he was and simply sat in their enclosure.

The huge silverback gorilla did turn around slightly to see what all the commotion was but didn't seem to be interested in the slightest at what he was doing.

However, it wasn't for the want of trying as Kellan put in plenty of effort to perfect his impression of the character, a fictional man who was raised by apes from when he was young after his parents were killed in a car crash.

Undeterred by his inability to entertain the gorillas, Kellan then went on to amuse himself and several onlookers at the zoo.

The Twilight actor – known for playing Emmett Cullen in the vampire franchise – tried out several of the zoo's activities, including swinging on the zip wire.

What's more, the star looked to be having a whale of a time as he enjoyed crossing over bridges made of ropes and tyres while being harnessed to a rope above his head.

Kellan also took some time out to pose for pictures with fans down at the zoo, much to their delight.

The actor is clearly a big fan of performing his character's signature move as he also did it at the Irish premiere of the movie on Wednesday.

The star can be heard lending his voice to the role from May 2 when the animated movie is released in the UK.
Several other stars including Jo Osmond and Robert Capron have also lent their voice to the motion picture.
